Position Requirements > Paralegal

Prior verifiable work experience is required. Candidates for paralegal positions should document within their resume their primary areas of paralegal expertise such as litigation, bankruptcy, or real estate.  
 
A minimum required typing speed of 50/60 wpm and proficient skills in the latest release of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access. Knowledge of E-filing and excellent grammatical and communication skills are also required for the successful candidate. 
 
Candidates should be able to handle legal issues with logic and provide their findings and opinions to their supervising attorney in both written and oral presentation.  
 
An understanding of legal terminology, good research, and investigative skills are a must. Candidates should be able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously and offer the flexibility to work additional hours if necessary.  
 
A paralegal Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required.
